When you send out your wedding invitations and you do not want to include the children, how do you do it so feelings are not hurt? I have seen guests ignore the fact that the children are not included and simply bring them and make a fuss regarding the dinner, go home after the ceremony and refuse to join the wedding party reception. You should not worry about this, it is your day and your day needs to be perfect for you. If one or more of your guests is upset provide babysitting options. You can hire a baby-sitter to be at your reception site (provide a meal like pizza,, have a pizza party) or even rent a hotel suite and have the children have a fun evening with the sitter watching movies. Provide movies for entertainment, kids meals, and some wedding favors.

That way the parents can check on them and enjoy the evening in the dance hall below. The parents can than pick their children up from the suite and go to the room the family reserved for the evening. Everyone is happy, the night was fun and the family is together. Be consistent, if you have decided not to invite children you should not bend the rules. If your best friend asks you if she can bring her kids and you say yes, and than your sister in law can not feelings may get hurt. Always offer an alternative, a sitter idea is a great plan and everyone can than say that they were given the choice either to hire a baby sitter on their own, or to enjoy your generous offer of a baby sitter that is set up at the location.
